Tiger Safari Tour in Kanha Overview
The Kanha National Park is located in the districts of Mandala and Kalaghat in Madhya Pradesh’s Maikal range of the Satpuras. The Kanha National Park, with its 362 square miles of lush natural splendor, has been designated as a highly valued animal refuge.
When compared to other wildlife reserves in India, the park is a shining example of superb tourism management and conservation efforts. Since its full establishment in 1955, the park has played a crucial role in boosting the wildlife population in nearby areas. The park’s most well-known wildlife species, the deer, especially the blackbuck, swamp deer, sambar, and chital, are at home here thanks to the lush, evergreen surroundings.
Kanha witnessed The Hard Ground Swamp Deer (Barasingha), India’s first effective conservation success story, grow from barely 55 in 1965 to over 800 today. Additionally, Kanha significantly aided in the growth of the Gaur population in Bandhavgarh. It donated roughly 50 Gaur to Bandhavgarh National Park, where they had almost a decade ago abandoned their natural home. Kanha is the reason why the Gaur community in Bandhavgarh is flourishing now. In order to replenish the Tiger population in the reserve, Tigers were subsequently moved to Panna and most recently to Satkosia Tiger Reserve in Orissa.

- Day 3 - 5: In Kanha National Park
Drive out into the forest for a morning tiger safari drive with an early wake-up call and a hot beverage. The sun rises over the hills and penetrates through the dense Sal groves, providing a tranquil atmosphere. Deer graze, monkeys converse, and small creatures run through the undergrowth while the park resounds with the chirps of colorful birds and paints a gorgeous scene.
Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of the best wildlife-protected places in the world, not only in India. This park’s enthralling majesty must be seen to be believed. Go on a silent safari to listen to Kanha National Park, since it speaks a lot. Kanha’s Sal and Bamboo woods, rolling meadows, and flowing streams cover 940 square kilometres and comprise the heart of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, which was established in 1974 as part of Project Tiger.
The park is the only place in the world where the rare hardground Barasingha may be found. This is the real Kipling nation, the one he described in such vivid detail in The Jungle Book. Packed breakfast from the Lodge is served at a prearranged location and put on the safari vehicle’s bonnet. Enjoy your breakfast in the midst of the jungle’s wildness.
Return to the Lodge for a short lunch and a change of clothes. After lunch, go on a nighttime tiger safari to see what the jungle has in store for you.
Return to the Lodge for dinner at sunset and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

What our guests are saying about us?
My husband and I did a 10 day "Just Tigers" safari. We visited Pench, Kanha and Bandhavgarh reserves. It was not high season but yes we had wonderful tiger sightings. The level of profession of these lovely people was so refreshing. For this type of trip you do want people who know what they are doing and a comfortable place to return to after long safari drives.
India. A country that has fascinated me for years. I finally decided it was time to visit and see it for myself. My husband and I both love nature, wildlife and birds so when I came across Nature Safari India I decided to make enquires.
We wanted to do the golden triangle tour as well as visiting national parks and seeing some of the ‘real’ India.
This is the 2nd time we have travelled with Nature Safari India. We had a 17 night holiday, visiting the nature of Sasan Gir National Park, Little Rann of Kutch, Velavadar Black Buck National Park and Leopard Hills at Bera. The nature was interspersed with various amounts of culture along the way. We had another amazing tour, with some stunning accommodation selected by the company
This was our second tiger safari at Corbett with Nature Safari and turned out to be worth every penny. We saw 7 tigers in 3 days and from quite close distance too. The best part was seeing a tigress wit her 2 grown cubs who crossed our path and walked in front of us for several minutes before crossing over and heading to a water hole where we saw them for hours drinking
