Mowgli, one of his most well-known literary characters, was portrayed as a native of these jungles, and he lived in and explored the hills of Seoni with his three best friends, Bagheera, Baloo, and Kaa.

Bandhavgarh Kanha and Pench Tour of Tiger Safari Detailed Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi
At the time of your arrival at the New Delhi International Airport, a Nature Safari representative will be waiting for you in the airport arrival hall while holding a name card. He will be joined by the chauffeur, and an SUV equipped with air conditioning will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, our staff will be there to assist you with a streamlined check-in process while also delivering any necessary documentation for the trip. The hotel in New Delhi is where you will spend the night.
- Day 02 : New Delhi – Nagpur – Pench (Flight + 100 kms/2 hrs drive from the airport)
Breakfast will be served at an early hour, and you will be transferred to the airport in the morning to check in for a flight that will depart at 05:55 and arrive in Nagpur at 07:40. We will meet you at the airport, and then it will be a two-hour journey to the Pench National Park Post, where you will be able to check into the lodge. After lunch, the passengers will be able to continue their journey to the national park by participating in an afternoon jeep safari. The resort provides the guests with food as well as a place to stay for the night.
- Day 03 : In Pench National Park
There are plans for morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the Pench National park while lunches and overnight stay are organised at the resort. This tropical wet deciduous forest in Southern India shares its extent with the tropical dry deciduous teak forest, which encompasses a total of 758 square kilometres. The majority of the streams and nallahs in the region are only active at certain times of the year. The landscape is crisscrossed by these waterways.
Even though the Pench River stops flowing at the end of April, there are still a number of water pools in the area that are called “dohs” and serve as watering holes for the many wild animals. During the pinch time, the only significant supply of water is the Pench Reservoir, which is located in the middle of the park. The watering holes along the Pench River are the greatest places to watch tigers because there is a significant concentration of prey in that area. This is a common location for tigers to prowl for their prey. Leopards are typically seen operating in the more outer sections of the forest, however they can also be spotted in the interior of the forest on occasion.
Cheetal and Sambar can frequently be observed grazing in open areas in the Pench region, including along roadsides, riverbanks, and reservoir shorelines. Jackals can be spotted roaming the entire park in search of food at any time. In the sections of the Reserve known as Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala, and Pyorthadi, it is possible to spot packs of up to 15 or even more wild dogs.
During the months of summer, herds of gaur can frequently be seen in the vicinity of bamboo groves and streams. Rockier terrain, particularly mahul bel-infested forests, is where sloth bears may typically be found. Chinkaras can also be found, albeit in very tiny numbers, in locations that are open and unforested.
- Day 04 : Pench–Kanha (210 km/4-5 hour drive)
A morning jeep safari will take you to the Pench National Park, and then from there it will take you around four to five hours to go to Kanha National Park. When visitors get in the park, they can check into the resort in Kanha, where they will be able to have dinner and spend the night.
- Day 05 - 07 : In Kanha National Park
You should get up at 0500 hours, drink some tea or coffee with cookies, and then head out to the national park for the morning safari. The sal and bamboo woods, rolling grasslands, and flowing streams of Kanha span over 940 square kilometres and comprise the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, which was established in 1974 as part of Project Tiger.
The park is the only place in the world where the endangered hardground Barasingha may be found (Cervus Duvauceli Branderi). This is the country that Kipling first explored and wrote about in such vivid detail in his book “The Jungle Book.” A pre-packaged breakfast that has been provided by the lodge is distributed to passengers at a predetermined location and laid out on the hood of the safari vehicle. Have a pleasant time eating your breakfast in the unspoiled nature of Kanha National Park. You should keep looking for the elusive tiger if you haven’t already spotted one, and in the meantime, you should take in the beautiful and revitalising scenery around you. When you get back from the safari, it should be around 11:30. Refresh yourself, because lunch is about to be served. After completing your safari for the day, you will need to be back at the resort by 6 p.m. Enjoy a delicious meal and spend the night at the lodge.
- Day 08 : Kanha–Bandhavgarh (By road 280 kms/6-hour drive)
A jeep safari through the Kanha National Park in the morning. Following lunch, you will go on a journey that will take you 6 hours to reach Bandhavgarh. After arriving, you will check into the lodge, have dinner there, and remain there for the night.
- Day 09 : In Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning and afternoon safari at the to the park. All means and overnight at the lodge.
There are three different core zones in Bandhavgarh, Tala, Magadhi and Khitauli Zone. You will be visiting these zones during the safari.
Tala zone is the oldest zone of Bandhavgarh National Park, where the fort is located. Shesh Shaiya, a venerated figure of Vishnu from the 10th century, is a popular tourist destination. The Charan Ganga river, the lifeblood of the park and several expansive meadows, has its beginnings in Shesh Shiya. There are additional caves here called Bari Gufa from the tenth century.
The region of Magdhi is distinguished by its grassland and mixed dense forest cover. Magdhi has a number of man-made and natural watering holes, including Sukhi Patiha, Dabhadhole, Charkpwaha, and Murdhawa. Magdhi has emerged as Bandhavgarh’s top location for tiger sightings in recent years.
The Khitauli zone, which is more of a dry-deciduous forest, has emerged in recent years as a hotspot for Tiger sightings. The elephants are often seen in the area as, in the form of bamboo cover, they have a plenty of food.
- Day 10 - 11 : In Bandhavgarh National Park
The national park is the destination of the morning and afternoon jeep safaris that are offered to visiting tourists. The high number of tigers that may be found within Bandhavgarh National Park is the primary reason for the park’s widespread fame. This is the location where the illustrious White Tigers of Rewa were found. Other wild animals that may be found in the park include leopards, blue bulls, indian gaurs (bison), chausinghas (four-horned antelopes), spotted deers, sambar deer, wild boar, sloth bears, foxes, jackals, wild dogs, and more. The park is home to over 250 different bird species and at least 22 different types of mammals. The Lesser Bandicoot rat, the Palm Squirrel, the Ratel, the Porcupine, the Small Indian Civet, the Jungle Cat, and the secretive Hyenas are some of the other animals that can be found in Bandhavgarh.

The caves that were excavated into the sandstone to the north of the fort are the oldest trace of human presence in the park. Several of them have Brahmi inscriptions on them, some of which date back to the first century B.C. There have been many dynasties that have ruled over the fort, such as the Maghas beginning in the 1st century A.D., the Vakatakas beginning in the 3rd century A.D., and others. Bandhavgarh was afterwards controlled by a series of dynasties, one of which included the Chandela Kings, beginning at that time and continuing on into the present. Bandhavgarh progressively lost all of its inhabitants until the surrounding forest completely covered the land and the region was designated as a royal hunting reserve.
The Maharaja of Bandhavgarh kept Bandhavgarh as his personal property until 1968, when he donated it to the state so that it might be turned into a national park. The number of animals experienced a significant increase after the establishment of the park, which also led to an end to illegal hunting and poaching. In particular, the number of tigers flourished, and the expansion that took place in 1986 gave the additional forest area that was required to house them. At the resort, there are accommodations available for travellers who choose to spend the night there.
- Day 12 : Bandhavgarh - Jabalpur - New Delhi (by road 200 kms/4 hrs drive)
Jeep safari in the park in the morning. Following the safri and lunch, you will travel to Jabalpur in order to catch a flight back to New Delhi. When you arrive at the New Delhi airport, our representative will be there to greet you. They will assist you with checking in and will make sure that you are comfortable for the night. Overnight at hotel in New Delhi.
- Day 13 : New Delhi – Fly back
After relaxed breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to New Delhi International Airport to board your flight back home.

This was our second tiger safari at Corbett with Nature Safari and turned out to be worth every penny. We saw 7 tigers in 3 days and from quite close distance too. The best part was seeing a tigress wit her 2 grown cubs who crossed our path and walked in front of us for several minutes before crossing over and heading to a water hole where we saw them for hours drinking
